We've got a wonderful addition to our arsenal of equipment to help our patients. Injection therapy is one of the less-used therapies usually because of the dreaded needle. It is usually the thought more than the action (I inject precisely, and slowly), but then this wonderful little toy came to my attention, and purchased it straight away.

This needle-free jet injector 'squirts' liquid medicine, anaesthesia, vitamins, or other fluids through the skin and into the subcutaneous tissue, via high pressure.

This makes for an excellent adjunct therapy to immediately take pain away from sore feet:
Heel pain - both Achilles and plantar fasciitis
Lateral ankle injuries and pains
Neuromas and neuralgia / neuropathic pain
Ingrowing toenails
The Comfort-in injection system has many advantages such as:
Needle-free injection
Virtually painless
Reduces tissue damage and scar tissue
Reduces psychological inhibitions and fears
Minimises injection-induced stress
Elimination of injury to patient and physician caused by needle
Safe and easy use
Most economical on the market, being good for up to 10,000 injections
When correctly applied, the injection with Comfort-in is virtually painless. The sensation can be described as a short slight pressure on the skin surface. As fluid is pressed under the skin the patient will sense the injection more or less, depending on the volume and the individual sensitivity.
It is possible to complete a toe-block using the Comfort-In for nail surgery. It is also very useful when performing prolotherapy where several injection sites are used.
While we have our uses for the Comfort-In injector, and can recommend it for home use as well. We have supplied several units for people using injectable insulin and also for other uses (including one family to use on their diabetic dog!). If you are interested, please let us know.
