About Elan

Elan and his three children, lined up in the photo

Elan was born in South Africa and moved to Australia when young. He is a firm supporter of all Australian sporting teams, particularly cricket, if you were wondering.

His schooling was unremarkable and if you ask him, quite forgettable.

University was more exciting. Elan has a BSc in Anatomy and Human Biology from UWA, and has many minor degrees to complement it. A second degree was received from Murdoch University in Chiropractic Science, but Elan never registered as a chiropractor.

His third and final degree was received from Charles Sturt University in Albury NSW. He completed the 4 year course in 3 years with Honours. While there, for fun he authored a multimedia biomechanics computer program for the students.

Elan has worked at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital, and then took up employment with the Department of Health, WA Country Health Service. Based in Narrogin, he worked at the hospital in Boddington, Pingelly, Narrogin, Wagin, Dumbleyung, Lake Grace, Kondinin, Kulin and Katanning for about a year. He then was promoted to Senior Podiatrist (then Chief) at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital and worked there and in the region for another year. Until recently, he traveled to the Goldfields, covering Kalgoorlie, Leonora, Laverton and Carnarvon. Currently Norseman, Esperance, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun and Lake Grace are visited. It is likely that Elan covered the greatest area of any Podiatrist in Australia. In history.

Elan took over Eighth Avenue Podiatry in early 2008 and with the expansion of the business moved it around the corner onto busy Beaufort Street renaming it Silver Podiatry in the process. After spending 8 years at 852a Beaufort St, and tiring of Landlords, Silver Podiatry purchased and rebuilt 868 Beaufort Street, winning the coveted City of Stirling Heritage Award.

In between academia and business, Elan married Sarah. They both live and work in the local area, and have three children: Hannah, Alexander and Jessica. And Sheldon the Burmese Cat.
